CHIMNEY & FIREPLACE RESTORATION | MASONRY HEATERS & OVENS | VENTILATION | INVESTIGATIONS
We sell and install High-Efficiency Gas fireplaces, freestanding stoves and fireplace inserts. These appliances are very efficient and clean-burning. They come with remote control and a single piece of glass across the front. An inspection of an existing fireplace is necessary prior to the purchase of the appliance. A consultation is necessary prior to installation in new construction.
A Direct Vent Gas Fireplace is installed in new construction or for remodeling projects and is vented out the side of the house. No chimney is needed.
A Direct Vent Gas Fireplace Insert is installed inside an existing fireplace, making it more efficient. Vertical venting is usually the most cost-effective method.
See the lines we carry here then inquire about an inspection and pricing.
For inserts: We must do a Level II inspection of the fireplace and chimney per code requirements prior to any changes to the fireplace. Please call us for more information.
For freestanding gas stoves and new fireplaces: We must visit the site to see where the new unit will be installed and take measurements. Please call us for more information.
For our existing customers only - we do not have a showroom or sell to the general public.
We also specialize in fireplace remodeling and finishing work in stone, tile, brick, or man-made stone. See our masonry work here
Please note: We do not install appliances or gas logs that are purchased elsewhere.
We must do an inspection prior to installation. Please call for pricing.
Gas coal or wood baskets are the perfect solution for a period fireplace! Get that historic look without the mess. See the styles we carry at firesideamerica.com then contact us for pricing and cost for installation. An inspection must be completed prior to pricing.
Vented Gas Logs
We sell and install White Mountain and Napoleon brand gas log sets. These are venting gas logs, which means that they need a flue that is in good condition and suitable to vent gasses. We do not recommend non-venting gas logs, because of possible indoor air quality problems, odors, and the need to have a window open during operation. See Margie's article on non-venting logs here for more information on non-venting logs.
Gas Log Dress Up: We offer a gas log dress up service to improve the looks of your existing log set. This includes adding sand, embers, platinum embers, and ceramic pinecones, then checking for proper log placement. Please ask about this service when you call. We can also do this to new log sets to make them look more visually appealing.
We must do a Level II inspection of the fireplace and flue to check the condition and see if it is suitable for burning gas logs. Gas logs emit Carbon Monoxide (CO), so the flue liner and chamber must be in good condition per IRC Code requirements. A good flue liner and chamber prevents toxic gasses from escaping into the living space of the home. Please call us to set up an inspection. 816-461-3665
Annual Gas Log Service: We remove the logs, clean the logs, clean the burner to remove webs, dirt, dust, and carbon, then reset the logs and do a test burn and CO test. This should be done annually to assure proper operation.
Chimney Inspection for Gas Logs: This should be completed every 2-3 years to assure that the chimney is in good condition and suitable for continued use. If switching from wood to gas, a flue sweeping will be necessary to remove flammable creosote.
