Keep rain and animals out of your flues, and avoid carbon monoxide backup into your home due to clogged flues from nests and leaves. We highly suggest that a Certified Chimney Sweep check all flues annually. We only use the best-quality HomeSaver Pro (Gelco) and RMR brand stainless steel chimney covers that are guaranteed never to rust. You can't find these caps in ANY store, only chimney professionals can buy them. Measurements: First you will need to know what size chimney cover you need. To do this, you must get on top of the chimney and measure the outside dimensions of the flue tile, and the height of the tile above the cement crown. If the tile does not stick up above the crown at least 4", you will need to order an leg kit. Just let us know you will need a kit and add it to your order. If you have more than one flue, measure all of them in this manner, and then also measure the distance between each flue tile. If the distance between tiles is 4"or less, you will need a custom-made chimney cover that covers ALL flues - See our Custom Cover Page for more information. Otherwise, skip to the next section for ordering a regular chimney cover. fit round, square, rectangular and oval flues. (We install in and around Kansas City, MO) These caps are designed to be attached to the outside of a clay flue tile. You will need at least 2" of tile above the cement crown in order to do this. If you have multiple flues, you will need a minimum of 4" between flue tiles so the covers will fit. If you need a cover for an 18" x 18" or 21" x 21" furnace chimney, you will need a band-around-brick style chimney cover. We charge a service call on all trips, however, if you have us do a chimney cleaning or inspection, we will not charge extra for sizing the chimney cover.
