This is a deer made of stone in a facial wall by Gene Padgitt.  The homeowner saw something similar in a Centurian Stone catalog and asked Gene if he could do one like it for him with some modifications.  The finished photos will be posted as soon as the rest of work on the house is completed.  These photos are large, so they may take a minute to load.


A template is made from cardboard - a freehand drawing by Gene. 
Luckily, he took art in high school and college. 

Work almost done.  The antlers are cut from one stone.


The wall is finished. A real antler is installed in front of the stone antler.


The mantel and stove are not finished.  Some touch-up on the deer is still needed.
The stove trim will be changed to black.
Note: this is a dry-lay stone wall with very little mortar.
