Masonry Chimney Work Samples

We build new chimneys and Rumford and Bellfires style fireplaces, and repair old chimneys.
Our specialty is masonry (brick and stone). Here are some samples of our masonry chimney work...

Explosion damage

BEFORE and  AFTER

This chimney was damaged when the house
next door had an explosion.  The chimney
foundation and chase cracked throughout.
When we removed the old deck, the
chimney collapsed (left).  We rebuilt the
chimney with a  new concrete slab, and block
foundation with a brick chase.  We repaired
and replaced the old chimney cover,
and rebuilt the deck.

Note: we only do deck work when doing chimney repairs!

Water damage - rebuild

Before and After. These painted bricks were severely water damaged and spalling.  We tore the chimney down and rebuilt it.  Hint: painted bricks deteriorate faster than unpainted bricks.

New Chimney Construction

This new chimney was built by By our team of masonry experts - Gene Padgitt, Tony Gross, Ricky Cline, and Buddy Wickizer. Note the detail work at the top of the chimney with soldier bricks and corbeled courses, and the inset bricks on the center front of the chimney (center photo).

We are Masonry Heater Builders

Masonry heaters are the most efficient way to heat your home.

This is a sample of a brick heater with a wood-fired bake oven above it, but we also build stone, tile, and soapstone heaters.

Historic Restoration job in Kansas City, Missouri.

1880 Victorian home

This chimney was torn down and rebuilt from a photo since the top portion was completely gone.  This project included four other chimneys, all built in different intricate styles that were typical of the Victorians.

We had to obtain "Little Reds" historical bricks for the project in order to match the existing bricks.

Also see our historical restoration work page for more information on this and other projects.

Outdoor Bake Oven

This is a brick bake oven that uses wood inside the oven
for heating up to 700 degrees.  Gene built this oven with a tile roof and decorative brickwork.  Once you've tasted pizza from
a wood-fired oven you'll never order delivery again!

New Stone Chimney
Kansas City, MO

This chimney was torn down and rebuilt with Carthage Limestone, one of the hardest stones.

During the stone chimney project: We built two matching chimneys at this location.
After completion of chimney number 1 with a limestone cap installed.
