Chimney Caps/Covers and Pots

Water causes the greatest damage to your chimney of any of the elements. It soaks into the mortar between flue liners and causes deterioration, damages dampers and metal fireboxes, bricks in the fireplace, and on the exterior destroys the mortar crown on the top of your chimney. A chimney cap does a great job of protecting your chimney from most water damage. For maximum chimney protection we recommend a multi-flue cap. That's because a multi-flue cap covers the entire chimney, not just one flue.

Chimney Covers/Spark Arrestors are required by code in most jurisdictions.  We highly recommend installation of a good chimney cover to help stop sparks from exiting the chimney, and to keep rain and animals out of the flue, which can damage your chimney or home.  A few dollars spent on a chimney cover now will prevent costly repairs later!  Flat screens are not allowed and are dangerous!

We carry regular and custom-made chimney covers and install them
in the greater Kansas City area only.

We do not ship covers and do not have an online store.

You may want to have a chimney cover installed at the same time that we do your chimney inspection and/or sweeping.

Standard stainless steel chimney covers fit most flues.  Heavy duty construction and guaranteed never to rust!  Standard sizes are always in stock.  Prices range from $149 - $299 installed.  Have one installed while we are doing an annual inspection or sweeping!
For masonry chimneys only.

Custom-made copper outside mount with hip and ridge lid.  This will patina nicely to match your copper gutters or trim. Custom order only - we must measure for a quote. For masonry chimneys only.

Big top style stainless steel chimney multi-flue cover for multiple flues.  It is attached to the cement crown.
Several sizes are available.
For masonry chimneys only.

Vacu-stack covers for wind-induced downdrafts.  If you don't know for sure that wind is causing your smoking problem, don't order this until we have done an inspection. For masonry chimneys only.
European Copper Tops
For a distinctive look and to extend the height of your flue, a European copper top may be just what you are looking for.  Special order. For masonry chimneys only.

We carry clay chimney pots in many sizes and styles.  Standard finish, glazed, or salt glazed wood-fired available.  We must measure first!  For masonry chimneys only.

Chase tops are for wood prefabricated fireplace chimney chases (chimneys) only.  At some point, most chase tops need to be replaced.  22 Gauge galvinized steel is the standard top we use, but we also have stainless steel, copper, and painted styles available.  We must measure before ordering.

WARNING

Flat screens on top of chimneys are against code and are dangerous.  Clogs can form with nests, leaves, debris, and creosote.  With a fireplace, this can cause smoke backup, with a furnace of hot water heater this can cause Carbon Monoxide backup!
